Accredited by the National Institute of Counselors (LKM) in Malaysia

Course Synopsis

The course will cover both the theory and practice of a clinically tested mindfulness intervention designed to reduce attention and behavioral problems in school aged children. A key emphasis of the training will be on adapting, integrating, and implementing a novel mindfulness-based program to reduce attention and behavioral problems in a school setting, drawing on experience from Malaysia. Continuing Professional Development

This course will cover both the theory and practice of a clinically tested anger-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) designed to address anger and other psychological problems in individuals presented with a history of exposure to trauma and adversity. Developed by Dr Kalhari Hewage (UNSW), a clinical psychologist who conducted a wait-list controlled trial of this intervention (Hewage et al., 2018) with trauma-affected persons from Timor-Leste. Specifically, the training will combine both didactic presentations and interactive exercises. The training will focus on applying cognitive and behavioral techniques through role-playing and case vignettes. The course fee includes all training materials with complimentary access to 1:1 supervision over the course of the three-month training.

Clinically tested Tools

Our courses are backed by science. Trainees who enroll in our Mindfulness Program for Children and Adolescents will be provided clinically tested tools to help them deliver their own program.

Mindfulness Curriculum

Trainees will be provided our clinically tested curriclum including workbooks and other materials designed to help facilitate mindfulness training for children and young adults.

Practice Mindfulness

With our proprietary mindfulness program, children and young adults are taught practical skills and how they can practice mindfulness on their own. Backed by research, mindfulness exercises have been shown to be effective in improving behavioral and attention problems.

Mindfulness Awareness

Our structured mindfulness program helps children develop a sense of mindfulness awareness about their actions, emotions, and thoughts. The outcome from our clinical trial was astounding - children who received the curriclum had fewer behavioral problems compared to those in a control group.
